About Kahu Malulani

Malulani (a.k.a. Paul) describes his passion for sharing the gift of aloha as: "I love bringing 'na mele aloha me ka pua nani o Hawai'i nei' (or, the traditional love songs and the beautiful flowers of Hawai'i) to a couple and their loved ones, hoping to make their special occasion an unforgettable experience. A deep abiding spiritual connection (best described in Olelo Hawai'i as 'e'ehia) to the Island of Maui inside my soul comes to me through my great love "alohanuiloa" for the Hawaiian culture it's people, my kupuna, and my 'ohana (ancestors and family) of my maternal bloodline here in the Hawaiian Islands. My grandfather, the late Rev. T.A. Samonte an ordained Protestant minister in the Congregationalist tradition was the leader of small plantation village church in Hamakuapoko near Pa'ia , Maui during the 1930's and '40's . The focus of his ministry was the spiritual and physical needs of the sugar plantation laborers and their families during the historical era of Territorial Hawaii which included the war in the Pacific. My mother, now in her 80's, was the youngest of the nine children born to the Reverend & Mrs. Samonte in the village known as 'Orpheum Camp' ".

Describing himself as a "hapa-haole local boy", Malulani, brings his 20 years experience as a Maui-based wedding musician (ukulele, guitar, vocals), his deep spiritual connection to Maui, and his aloha for all things Hawaiian to your wedding making your ceremony memorable and inspiring.
